Pubs and Club -The Bear, Green Dragon, Wellington, Sun, Royal Oak and Castle and Ball can be found in the High Street, The Lamb and the Crown are in the Parade and the Queens head and the Roebuck can be found on the edges of the Town. Our one night club can be found in Hughenden Yard.

 

Leisure Centre - On the Western side of Town near the College.

 

Savernake Forest - Just East of Marlborough. Covering about 20 square miles the forest is a great place for that walk on Sunday afternoon. FREE

 

Wilton Windmill - 10 miles South East.  Open between Easter and early October, a fully restored and, on certain days, working windmill.
 

 

Crofton Beam Engines - 10 Miles South East of Marlborough 01672 870300 Not one but two restored  beam engines an 1812 Boulton and Watt and an 1846 Harvey of Hayle Cornwall. They were used to raise water to the highest part of the Kennet and Avon Canal.  Steaming on certain days More >

 

Kennet and Avon Canal - The canal was opened in 1810 and is 86 miles long with 106 locks, now used mostly for leisure, fishing and holiday Barges. More >

  View Points - Just off of the A345 Road to Pewsey Granham Hill gives one of the best views over Marlborough, it's also the place where the old pack horse road can be seen as well as being the site for the Marlborough White Horse. FREE
  West Kennet Longbarrow - 5 Miles west on the A4 Bath Road.
Built around 3500BC and then used for about a thousand years before being closed off this site is known to have had 45 to 50 burials inside. FREE
  Silbury Hill - 5 Miles West on the A4 Bath Road. A 132 feet high mound, built around the same time as Avebury and the nearby Longbarrow,  its purpose has never been discovered despite three excavations into the Mound nothing has ever been found. FREE but no access to the top. Viewing from car park only due to large hole in the top of the hill
  Avebury - Large stone Circle (much bigger and older than Stonehenge) with ditches and banks also a Stone flanked Avenue leading off to the South. FREE
  Stonehenge - 20 miles South of Marlborough.  Probably the best known heap of rocks in the world! Quite expensive and VERY busy all year round.
